JMR Software is a black empowered company and endorses the principles of broad-based black economic empowerment as detailed in the Code of Good Practice (COGP) of the Department of Trade and Industries. The shareholders of the company are committed to ensure that the business makes a positive and meaningful contribution to the new spirit of common well being of all the citizens of South Africa. |
The foundation of JMR’s success and its key differentiator is its ability to attract exceptional information technology skills. The company has built its business on the placement of key technical resources in both the local and overseas markets. JMR maintains an extensive database of the highest level of resources from which to draw skills. These skills are available either on a consultancy or contract basis to clients or to compliment JMR’s project teams.
In addition, JMR has also developed a truly unique approach to the retention of staff. This investment has resulted in the company developing a strong, well-organized and established team of highly experienced, capable and motivated technical specialists who ensure JMR’s ability to deliver services and solutions of the highest quality.

JMR has also made significant investments in its own technical infrastructure so that it is equipped to run major development projects. This infrastructure covers UNIX, NT and AS400/iSeries. JMR has its own ISP and has access to a mainframe. JMR’s bandwidth investment has made it possible to develop solutions for customers from JMR’s office premises in Johannesburg. |
JMR’s considerable technical expertise and industry insight has enabled us to source solutions and enter into exclusive partnerships to provide software tools and frameworks that address some of South Africa’s most urgent business and technical needs. These solutions fall into two categories: business enablers and technology enablers.
Technology enablers are tools that are offered directly to IT departments to fulfill training needs; manage the performance of systems, networks and middleware; deliver new data access capabilities; provide new distribution channels for legacy data and applications and enable integration. These technical solutions provide the optimised infrastructure on which effective business solutions depend.
Business enablers are frameworks that are the result of the application of various methodologies and tools in solutions already in production. JMR is currently marketing frameworks that deal with such urgent business issues as regulatory compliance, employee benefits, automated policy administration, claims automation, closed books automation and loans administration. All of these frameworks are readily web enabled and built in an incremental fashion so that complete solutions or parts of solutions can be implemented with the required level of customization, greatly reducing delivery times.
JMR understands the risks that financial institutions enter into at the inception of a new development project. These risks include incomplete definition of scope, use of inappropriate skills, wrongful interpretation of business rules and specifications, poor quality technical design and implementation and inadequate testing. All or any of these possibilities could lead to project inefficiencies, possible project failure and the writing off of investments.
It is for this reason that JMR solution development projects are driven through a defined and documented development process, coupled with sound project management disciplines, effective issue and risk management, and continuous communication to all stakeholders. Effective project governance techniques ensure that all JMR projects are delivered to completion and customer satisfaction.
